COMBO ROOF SYSTEM

- Stage 1. Surface Preparation and Protection
- Upon casting and complete curing of roof slab, engineer shall visit the site to inspect the roof and accept the roof for waterproofing and ready for PU foam spray works. A preliminary site inspection shall be carried out and any further preparation work if required shall be brought to the attention of the main contractor or client. Upon completion high pressure air washing will do the overspray protection (Emitek).
- Stage 2. P U Application
- PU - Spray Applied Polyurethane Foam: Waterproof Insulation PU rigid polyurethane systems are two components based on blended polyol and polymeric MDI. PU in the Combo Roof System acts as both waterproofing and thermal insulation. The spray on liquid state applied on high pressure penetrate into hairline cracks and pin holes on the roof slab. In less than a minute it expands 30 times to its volume and solidifies, thereby sealing the entire slab. The foam creates an impermeable waterproofing layer and shall be applied multiple layers to reach the required insulation to the roof slab. Normal PU systems density grades 40-50 kg/m³ and density can change according with the site requirements.
- Stage 3. UV Protective Coating
- After the completion of P U foam application, apply the rubberized liquid protection coating shall be applied over entire foam to protect it from sun rays for the water test procedure. Some cases there applying the acrylic protective coating for the same as per the site requirements. Acrylic protective coating is resistant to dilute acids, alcohol, petrol, carbonation and chloride ions and it is durable, flexible and has a high level of resistance to UV exposure and aggressive weathering agents.
- Stage 4. Geotextile Separation Layer & Paneling for Screed Laying
- Upon successful completion of flood test, water shall be removed and geotextile membrane (Non-woven Polyester -100-120GSM) shall be laid as a protection layer over the entire roof area and will do the paneling work using joint filler board and cementitious adhesive mortar to attain the desired slope levels prior to commencement of concrete screed work. Screed concrete (normally using 10mm aggregate 20N-300opc) with fibre reinforcement laid in slope 1:150 having 45mm thickness at drainage point and increasing away from the drain and total average thickness of 80mm. The screed will be finished by trained masons with power float for getting smooth and good finish.
- Stage 5. Angle Fillets & Joint Treatment
- Angle fillets to protect the skirting edges of the PU foam, shall be done after application of bonding agent to the corners of size 100 *100 mm. One Part UV resist Polyurethane Joint Sealant is a single part low modules high performance polyurethane sealant, which cures on absorption of atmospheric moisture to form a firm and flexible rubber watertight seal for moderate movement of control joints. UV resist sealant will be used in horizontal joints between screed panels.
- Stage 6. Top Coat Finishing
- For the Top coat using highly efficient and energy saving flexible coating and minimum SRI value >78 water based good acrylic material. After apply the top coat need proper drying time and it will be getting non-toxic, washable and environment friendly forming a seamless membrane that resists many type of chemicals and bridging hair line cracks. This coating provides aesthetic look to the roof.
